You guys might remember Chris of Red Leaf from the interview I did with him awhile back, and I couldn't be happier to have this shop back as a sponsor and as this week's feature and giveaway! Red Leaf products are really the epitome of quality, and the packaging is sleek and modern. The bubble bath dough is enough to get you hooked on Red Leaf for life!!! No, seriously - I. Love. It.Chris is a shining representation of the male-minority on Etsy, and he's pretty funny to boot. Read on to soak up his wisdom, and there's a YouTube review of his bubble bath dough a little further down!
Q. What's the story behind Red Leaf? A. I always wanted a line of products that combined design, practicality, and fun and a lot of
products embody those things. But my favorite room in the house is the bathroom because thats where all the good stuff is and my favorite part of the bathroom is the bathtub. So I started with that concept and ran with it.
products embody those things. But my favorite room in the house is the bathroom because thats where all the good stuff is and my favorite part of the bathroom is the bathtub. So I started with that concept and ran with it. Q. If I gave you a voucher for an all-expenses-included vacation anywhere in the world for two weeks, where are you headed?
A. First week Prague, second week Istanbul.
Q. What's your favorite scent? A. My favorite scent is Wild Sage. It grows like a shrub in hot climates and when you take a few leaves and rub them between your fingers the scent is amazing! I don't have that scent in my shop though because you just cant beat the real thing!
Q. Do you collect anything?
A. Yes, although it's mostly unintentional.
Q. What's the best advice you have for anybody selling on Etsy?
A. Great pics. That's absolutely the most important thing for an online business, Etsy or not. Also, staying focused on customer service is absolutely critical. Lastly, having a rock solid understanding with yourself that nothing leaves your studio unless it is perfect. If need be, contact the buyer and tell them it'll be shipped the next day. Q. What's the weirdest thing that's ever happened to you?
A. Being born. I don't remember it, but as far as weird goes, that would pretty much be at the top of the pile.
Q. Finish my sentences:
Q. Finish my sentences:
Seventeen was... The number of pairs of pants I tried on yesterday until I found a pair I liked.
If I never saw another cell phone again... Seeing them is fine. It's the hearing them that I could do without.
Music makes me...Work better, relax more, and sometimes sing out loud.
The economy...Is an opportunity.
Q. What's your ultimate goal for Red Leaf?
A. To have several retail accounts in every state and many more international accounts. To have fun with it while taking it in new directions, and then ultimately leaving it to my sons.
Q. What's at the top of your 'bucket list?'
A. To make a room full of people laugh while standing behind a microphone.
A Little More Leaf...newsletter (great discounts for subscribers!)
