salt and vinegar broiled fingerling potatoes . Umami Girl
I love a potato. You can bake it, boil it, fry it, saute it, nuke it, grate it, (Bubba Gump, anybody?)... Anyhow, this is one of the most versatile things out there, and the good 'ole potato is just as good for a main as it is a side. Despite their bad reputation for being dirty little carb-bombs, potatoes have plenty of nutritious properties (okay, maybe not the Mickey D's version...), and they're just plain delicious. Did you catch all the buzz about them possible being banned from WIC allowances? Ridiculous, if you ask me...
I'm a little bit obsessed with the recipes I've gathered together here. I've got a few thoughts that I can't shake:
- If salt and vinegar chips are delicious, then what do salt and vinegar potatoes taste like? Heaven? Yeah, I figured...
- Wouldn't anything taste better wrapped in a paper cone?
- Does that Hasselback potato look a teensy bit like a sea animal of some persuasion?
- Why is Martha Stewart so good at everything?
Which of these recipes has you running to your root cellar? Oh, it's called Walmart these days? Just kidding then...
Do you have a favorite potato recipe that I haven't covered here? Link me! I loooove to cook!
