my big, exciting news

August 9, 2012 separator Life

You know what’s pretty cool?

Having a magazine on your bookshelf that you’re in

It’s neat, even when the magazine is based in Portugal and you don’t speak a word of Portuguese. Because it’s the thought that counts, right?

I’ve been meaning to share this little snippet of news for ages, but you know how it gets when life gets busy and whatnot. Anywho – Shrimp Salad Circus has been featured in print for the first time in a couple issues of Nova Gente SOLUÇÕES, and it’s still all kinds of awesome.

What has been a peak moment for you so far – either as a blogger or in your personal or professional life?

  1. Amazing, Congrats!
I think the day the fancy emailed me telling me my poster was featured on their home page has to be my highlight so far, it also recently happened a second time which I didn’t even know was possible!
I hope we all have many more of these moments to come 🙂
By the way i featured you as a blog I love on my blog (ohhowmarvellous.blogspot.co.uk) today, thought i’d let you know!

  2. I have magazine feature envy!! Well done you, I’m with Morena, the most exciting thing thats happened to me is somebody putting a link into their facebook page.

  3. That’s an incredible accomplishment, Tabetha – congratulations on all your hard work!

  4. And I get excited when a name brand tweets about me….lol. That is super exciting!!! Congrats!!!

  5. super cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Congrats!! I have been featured on websites and various publications (not like yours though! Yours is MUCH better!)

  6. That is so awesome! I’m always amazed at the global opportunities we have now through the blogging world 🙂 I have a tie for peak moments: the day that the book my stationery is published in arrived in the mail – I Heart Stationery by Charlotte Rivers; and the day Etsy asked me to be Featured Seller – I just about passed out. Wish I could put that one on a shelf. I can tell you will have many more moments like these 🙂

  7. Congratulations! How crazy exciting for you! I would agree with The Lacquered Lady every mention, every comment, every email (including those from you) just renews our excitement about working on The Brightside Project.

  8. Thanks so awesome! And look how cute you look in the photo! Congratulations! I am a small and relatively new blog (just reached 1 year). I have had some well established bloggers reach out to me just to be encouraging and tell me they like my blog or to offer to forward my media kit to PR firms. That was a pretty gratifying and rewarding experience.

  9. Congratulations!! My peak has been being named as one of Pittsburgh’s Top Fashion Bloggers and being featured in the magazine too.

    1. That’s a pretty fantastic accomplishment, Sarah – Pittsburgh’s a pretty big scene!

  10. Congratulations! That is SUPER cool that you’re in an international magazine!

One of my peak moments: being published in two different card magazines. It’s such a special honor and had always been one of my dreams.

  11. Congrats Lindsay! That’s very exciting! You’re adorable hiding behind the magazine- and I love all the shelfs (and the decor on them) in the background!

    1. Thanks, Kaitlin – I’ve loved decorating our apartment. And hiding behind magazines, of course! lol

  12. I write for a few print magazines and its still surreal getting the issues in the mail every month.

  13. Congrats, Lindsay! That’s so awesome! I think a peak moment for me so far, in my freelance/blogger career, is when other blogs ask if they can feature my work. It’s only happened a couple of times but it definitely makes me feel like I’m doing something right! 🙂
