Vine vs. Instagram . Blog Better

June 24, 2013 separator Blogging

The latest thing to blow up social media probably hasn’t slipped by under anybody’s radar: Instagram now does video clips. That’s right – the wildly popular Facebook-owned platform is, not surprisingly, trying to nudge Vine out of the market. I’ve scoured the interwebs to come up with an at-a-glance showdown between the two apps. Read, compare, and decide which you prefer.

What’s my verdict? While I find many of the features of Vine preferable, like looping and being able to touch anywhere on the screen to record, I’m sure that many of the six zillionInstagram users will agree that it’s just plain easier to do everything within the same app. Vine kind of lost me along the way since I had no reason to frequent the app without opening it exclusively to make a video. After my cup of tea and a few other weak attempts, I bid adieu to Vine for now. I don’t necessarily want videos clogging up my Instagram feed, but I will say that it’s neat to see rippling waves or yoga in motion.
What do you think? Will Instagram bump Vine off the map? Which do you prefer?

  1. Personally, I still love Vine! I don’t want to get rid of it (although a lot of others seem to be). I love the loop and the creativity of the popular Vine users. It seems like 15 seconds is almost TOO long, whereas 6 seconds is just right.
    That’s just my opinion!
    I love this post though!
