shades of autumn . what I wore

blazer, H&M (similar, $78) . top, Dana Buchman (similar $25)
scarf, Merona, $15 . brooch, c/o Painted Bliss, $17
pants, Laundry by Shelli Segal (similar $98) . loafers, Merona, $20
I’m a scarf junkie from the first sign of a shiver until the last frost has been gone for at least a month, but wearing the same old scarves in rotation can get really old, so I like to add some punch to ’em with brooches – vintage, handmade, or even big, lost-mate earrings sometimes!

This brooch is a new favorite. Ashlie of Painted Bliss sent it to me last month, and I think that it turns this plain old brown pashmina into something entirely new and better, don’t you? Ashlie stuffs and sews the little nests, paints them, complete with little robin’s eggs, and then she sews them onto dainty little twigs. It’s just too pretty to not be the feature of any outfit!
