A Boudoir Session With Rosco

Mondays are little more than a nagging reminder that the weekend is long gone. Five long days of 9-5 stare us down, rubbing our noses in the fact that we can’t sleep in today. Unless, of course, you’re this guy. Because his entire 9-5 (and almost all the other hours) looks like this. And it’s adorable (and totally obnoxious and unfair), right?

I was playing around with my camera after I shot some goodies for the shop yesterday, and I couldn’t resist sneaking up on this little guy. Since he was “posing” in our bed all morning, I figured it was pretty clear that it was time for a boudoir session with Rosco. It doesn’t get a lot more glamorous than this, does it ladies? He has the weirdest, cutest little half-pink, half-black nose, and he’s constantly twisting into the craziest positions. All the edits were done in post-processing with Photoshop. I was trying to give the images a dreamy, film-like quality with the heavy grain.

I have a couple film cameras that I’ve been meaning to try out again recently so that I don’t have to fake the film look. I’ve used my Holga before, but I have a vintage Miranda that my brother gave me a few years ago. Popped my first roll in yesterday! I’ll be sure to share the pictures as soon as I get through that roll and get them developed. In the meantime, I have some tips for film photography–and every other kind!–compiled here.
