my first car wreck | yeah, yeah – I’m okay

May 20, 2010 separator Life

*Disclaimer: My wrecklet had nothing at all whatsoever to do with any sort of cell phone use. Yes, seriously. I just think the cartoon is funny (and quite true these days…) and that any other sort of car wreck picture might just be a bit on the morbid side of things.

Soooo this week marks my first-ever crash. It was a baby one, really. I hydroplaned and smacked a guardrail on the interstate. My car is a little crunchified, but other than that, we’re both doing quite well. It’s going into the shop, and I’m going into seclusion. Okay, so maybe I’m just going to cut back on the driving until I can hit a puddle without having heart palpitations…

  1. It’s good that everything worked out and you survived. Recently, I also had an accident and lost my car but remained unharmed. For a long time I could not find where to buy a car cheaper and faster, and my friend advised me to read the reviews on https://www.dm-auto-leasing.reviews/review.html because I took a car from them for a while and it was worth it much less money for her than if she had bought a new one. I have heard of such services before and I think that I will try to use this one.

  2. It’s never easy to be in a car accident. It’s good that you didn’t get seriously injured or anything. So, how are you now? I wish the experience didn’t stop you from sitting behind the wheel. Sometimes, the post-traumatic experience can be more difficult to handle.

  3. Oh my, I’m sorry to hear that! Glad that you (and your car) are doing okay.

  4. A couple of years ago a guy ran a red light (driving someone else’s car without a license, by the way) and slammed right into me. Totaled my car and I was bussing it for weeks. Even when I got a new car, I NEVER went through that intersection again. Couldn’t do it. (sigh)

  5. Sympathy, my friend. Sympathy. Although I’m an experienced wrecker. By the time I got out of highschool, I’d had 6 wrecks and totaled 3 cars — NONE of which were my fault. Needless to say, I’m a very defensive driver now.

    Glad you weren’t hurt. Hope your car comes back from the shop all shiney & pretty.

  6. Glad you’re okay! Geez… but don’t stay away from the car for too long, you might just develop a deeper fear of driving.
    Poor lass! {hug}

  7. gosh! sorry to hear that but we’re glad you’re okay!

    and btw, going into seclusion for a few days is a great idea 🙂

  8. Oh, I’ve been in so many that weren’t my fault (honestly, I’m not being a blamer :). )!

    You’ll feel fine in a couple of days- it just takes time to shake it off. 🙂

  9. Yikes! Glad you are ok! 🙂
    I had one slip and slide last winter, during the snow storm… Not fun whatsoever. 🙁

  10. So glad to hear you are okay. It is nerve wracking isn’t it?? My first and only accident was with a telephone pole.

    I hope everything works out with the car… remember, you gotta get back on the horse! 🙂
