Leukemia & Lymphoma Society – Please Help!

May 15, 2009

Marion and I ran the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville our freshman year to raise money for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, and it was an incredibly worthwhile experience. However, it is quite an undertaking to raise such a large sum of money, train to run 13 miles, and still keep up with everything else going on in your life. One of Marion’s good friends has taken on the project herself, and she will be running the San Diego Rock’n’Roll Half Marathon. She is trying to raise $3,900. She is over halfway there, but she still needs our help.
I implore you – If you or anyone in your life has every been affected by leukemia, lymphoma, or any type of cancer, then you understand the importance of finding better treatments and ultimately a cure. Even if your life has never been touched in any way by cancer, you can still play a role in supporting those who have. I know that nobody has a lot of extra money to burn right now, but even a few dollars can make a difference and help both Lauren and the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society to work towards a cure. Please, if you have even a couple dollars to spare, donate to this incredible organization.
You can donate securely online at Lauren’s Team in Training page.
Thank you in advance for your generosity, and if anybody else has ever participated, I’d love to hear about it!

  1. I also once ran the Country Music Half Marathon in Nashville when I was a student. This year, in May, the same marathon will be held again in Nashville. So I invited my sister to fly to Nashville to run this half marathon and remember her youth. We plan to rent a car to drive around the city, because there are many warm memories from our youth. We started looking on travel blogs where it is better to stay and rent a car and find more info here.

  2. I’m about to make a donation. I have an aunt and an uncle suffering from cancer right now. Good Luck to you.
