a mile in my shoes . life is good

Life is good these days. It finally hit me that I’m actually done with school, so I have a new appreciation for such novelties as free time, sleep, and stopping to breathe. Don’t get me wrong – I’m still super busy applying for “grownup” jobs and working on a couple contracted projects, but it’s just all finally on my own terms.

This weekend, I got to spend some great quality time with The Mister’s family. We hiked and swam, and I had my second-ever putt putt experience at a jank-a-lank Bible-themed mini golf course. It was nothing short of epic. On Memorial Day, as a belated graduation surprise (life’s habit of getting in the way and all that…), The Mister took me ziplining and caving. It was the best time I’ve had in quite awhile!

Yesterday was my first day as a summer camp counselor (this summer, anyway – done it a million times before), and it’s really nice to be working with kids again. I had forgotten about all the small joys in life – origami “blow up boxes,” bubbles, and watered-down grape juice. It was a really fun day, and I’m thrilled to be working again. To top it all off, I got a call for a second interview for a great job, so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Sorry for rambling, but I’ve been spotty on here for awhile, so I felt like I owed you guys an update. I hope you’re all having as wonderful a summer as I am!!!

  2. Wow, congrats on being done!! That is super exciting. 🙂 I don’t even feel like I have a light at the end of my school tunnel, but I try to remind myself that it’s for a purpose. Ziplining and caving sounds awesome! Good luck with your interview!
