Keeneland, Lexington’s own lovely horse racing track, is only open twice a year – three weeks in April and again in October. I try to make the trip once a season, but I was in a mood about going Saturday because the weather has been tragically cold and rainy. As you can see from the pictures, it showed me up and ended out bright, sunny, and tolerably warm. I know I’m kind of blending in with the black dress, but I just love all Kentucky’s pretty black barns, so I couldn’t resist the backdrop!

I’m loving my new little piano purse/clutch, and I’ve got a tutorial ready for you guys tomorrow so that you can make one of your own, so stay tuned, and start hitting your local thrift shops for a white bag!

My Mister was looking rather dapper as well. Here we are tailgating before the race (yes, just like a college football game…) and then later on at the races. Finally, meet Herman (I name things immediately upon meeting them. Always.), my fuzzy little ‘pillar that The Mister rescued from an untimely end on the sidewalk. I made everybody take caterpillar ‘stache pictures because I’m a geek, but I’ll spare them the public scrutiny and keep those on Facebook…
