Today I am a guest over at oh, hello friend, curated by the lovely Danni. Danni’s mother was recently diagnosed with cancer, so she is taking a little blogging break to be with her family. If you have a chance, stop by to show Danni your support and to let her know that you’re thinking about through this horrible trial.
The topic of my guest post was “Ten Ways to Brighten Today, Right this Very Minute” (not terribly original after Monday’s post but still tons of fun), and I decided to follow [a little bit] of my own advice:
I attempted list item numero cinco: Clean out the junk drawer. You’re just going to have to stop and read it to figure out how the heck such an awful task can brighten your day…
|(That’s catnip in the drawer from a Mish & Rosco massacre,
I swear… I had to vacuum the entire drawer out after getting
all the tiny little beads and findings gathered up.
P.S. To everyone who has left me a thoughtful, sweet, encouraging comment about Nikki, thank you. Thank you all for sharing your stories and your wonderful thoughts; it means a lot to me. I don’t know when I’ll be able to look at pictures of her again without tearing up, but for now I’m happy just to have the pictures and to have had her in my life.
Hey, it was *totally* worth the time – looks great!
First pick is like in my drawers although I prefer a status like your second picture. Good job!
i had to laugh when i saw your junk drawer…i am cleaning out mine, too, but i will spare you the picture…just imagine yours…but with my stuff in it 😉
Oh! I OCD to be organized and to clean! .. So ya I agree with thepixie .. the after picture is like oxygen for me too 😉
5 hours maybe, but isn’t it SO satisfying?!
everyone has a junk draw haha
i really need to sort my craft room out – its blocking my creativitiy!
as an organization freak, that ‘after’ picture warms my heart (:
